China’s 277 million people use cell phone to access the Internet
The number of Internet users in China has break through 400 million. The number of people who use cell phone to access the Internet has reached as many as 277 million. The China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) released “26th China Internet Development Statistics Report.” yesterday. Report reflects the increasingly important position of the cell phone Internet.
The report says, at the end of June this year, the number of Chinese cell phone users who use cell phone to access the Internet reached 277 million, increased over 43.34 million people than at the end of 2009. The proportion cell phone users who use cell phone to access the Internet in the overall cell phone users and the overall of Internet users have also been further improved.
However, the speed of increasing 43.34 million cell phone users who use cell phone to access the Internet in six months is smaller than the madness speed of the second half of last year. Last second-half year, the numbers of people who use cell phone to access the Internet increase 77.96 million in China-Wholesale cell phones.
After the comparison by CNNIC survey team, there are two reasons why the growth rate decline, first is because of seasonal factors, second is because the concept of 3G gradually weakened. As the major operators decrease the propaganda of 3G and mobile Internet this year, The increasing of Internet users, “return to normal levels.”
In any case, in the first half of 2010, the size of mobile phone users who use cell phone to access the Internet grow faster than the traditional Internet users. The people who use cell phone to access the Internet has become the main driving force in driving up the scale of China’s total Internet users. Investigators believe that this reflects the huge potential of mobile Internet.
The report shows that China’s Internet users use the mobile Internet more to communicate information and entertainment. The most popular feature is the Mobile Internet chat, including the use of mobile QQ and SymbianOS. At the end of June this year, the Utilization rate of cell phone communication topped the list among the various instant messaging applications. It achieves 61.5%. In second place is the cell phone search, the Utilization rate is 48.4%. The Utilization rate of Cell phone music, cell phone network literature and cell phone social networking sites is also high.
