New Skype 4.0
The Swedish-developed communication program Skype released a few weeks ago in a new version, namely version 4.The program allows you both to call and video conferencing and chat with other users worldwide.
The user interface of the new Skype has been heavily revised since previous versions and it feels more genuine andaccessible than before. To the left of the program, you have a list of your contacts and conversations. Clicking on any of the contacts and get up his profile and the option to call or start a video call . You can also see any chat history with the current user.
Video features have been heavily focused on improving the new Skype. Unlike instant messaging programs such as MSN so it is perfectly fine to have a video conference with people regardless if you use the Mac or PC , for example. Worth pointing out is that Skype does not exist in version 4 for Mac yet. Nowadays, there is also a feature that allows you to smoothly can take screenshots from your webcam with the person you’re talking to.
Skype uses encryption and various algorithms to ensure that traffic between you and the person or talking to be sure. Even if someone could intercept your traffic, for example, if you are connected via an unsecured wireless network , so you need not worry that unauthorized person to take part of the conversation.
The program can also be used in order to make calls to landlines and mobile phones worldwide. To make it so tanks you first transfer money into your Skype accountusing a credit card and it all works then something like a mobile to a mobile phone. In addition to regular phone calls so you can also send SMS messages with the program. There is also a voice mail system where users can call and leave messages for you when you’re away from your computer.
System requirements for PC version of Skype:
- Windows 2000, XP or Vista.
- Speakers and microphone – built-in or separate.
- For voice and video calls are a computer with at least 1 GHz processor and 256 MB RAM recommended.
- For high resolution video calls, a webcam that supports this, and a computer with dual core processor and a broadband connection of at least 384 kbit / s.
